Sonder Marketing & Design, LLC ("Sonder," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website thinksonder.us (the "Website"), provides marketing and advertising services, and operates Sonder Passport, our client platform at hub.thinksonder.us ("Sonder Passport"). We are a remote-first agency based in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit the Website, contact us, or use Sonder Passport. It applies to visitors, prospective clients, and users of Sonder Passport. Section 14 describes how Sonder Passport handles information received from Google. Personal information we handle on behalf of a client as part of a paid engagement is otherwise governed by our Client Services Agreement.
By using the Website or Sonder Passport, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you complete a form, request a consultation, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, and any information you include in your message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website, we automatically collect "log data," which may include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, time spent on pages, the referring website, and similar diagnostic and usage information.
Sonder Passport account information. When you are invited to Sonder Passport and sign in, we collect your name, email address, and the organization you belong to, together with basic activity records (such as sign-in times and the reports you open) needed to operate and secure the platform.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 3.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the information or services you request;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website and Sonder Passport;
- Send newsletters, updates, and marketing communications you have requested (you can opt out at any time);
- Analyze how the Website is used and measure the performance of our content and campaigns;
- Deliver and measure advertising, including retargeting;
- Protect the security of the Website and Sonder Passport and comply with our legal obligations.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help websites function and collect usage information. We use:
- Essential cookies necessary for the Website and Sonder Passport to work, including sign-in session cookies;
- Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Website (for example, through analytics providers such as Google Analytics);
- Advertising cookies that help us and our partners deliver and measure relevant ads (for example, through platforms such as Google and Meta).
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Website may not function properly, and you will not be able to sign in to Sonder Passport. Our Website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but you can control tracking through your browser settings and the opt-out tools described in Section 4.
4. Analytics and Advertising
We use third-party analytics and advertising services to understand our audience and promote our services. These providers may set cookies and collect information about your activity across websites over time. You can limit this tracking:
- To opt out of Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- To opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) or the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
5. Email and Marketing Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to updates, we will send you marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time. We may still send you non-marketing messages related to an inquiry, an active engagement, or your Sonder Passport account (such as report deliveries and security notices). We handle marketing email in accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act and other applicable laws.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf — such as website and application hosting, authentication, email and CRM platforms, and analytics providers — who may use the information only to provide those services to us;
- Partner agencies, where you are a client of a partner agency that delivers our services under its own brand, so that the partner agency can see the reporting for the accounts it is responsible for (see Section 14);
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law or legal process, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public;
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide our services, and to comply with our legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. Retention of information received from Google through Sonder Passport is described in Section 14.
8. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections, encrypted storage of connection credentials, and role-based access controls in Sonder Passport. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing communications or certain uses of your information. California and several other states provide such rights to their residents, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 15, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, and control cookies through your browser and the tools in Section 4.
10. International Visitors
The Website and Sonder Passport are operated in the United States. If you access them from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
11. Third-Party Links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
12. Children's Privacy
The Website, Sonder Passport, and our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date, and changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
14. Sonder Passport and Google User Data
Sonder Passport (hub.thinksonder.us) is the platform through which Sonder Marketing & Design and the partner agencies that white-label our services deliver reporting to the clients whose Google Ads accounts and Google Analytics and Google Search Console properties they administer. It is used by accounts in more than one Google Workspace organization: our own and those of our partner agencies. Sign-up is by invitation only, and every user sees only the accounts they are authorized to manage.
What we access. When you connect a Google account to Sonder Passport, we access, for the accounts and properties you choose to connect:
- Google Ads — campaign, ad group, and keyword performance data such as impressions, clicks, cost, and conversions;
- Google Analytics — traffic and conversion data such as sessions, users, engaged sessions, conversions, and channel groups;
- Google Search Console — search performance data such as clicks, impressions, average position, and top queries and pages.
How we use it. We use this information solely to produce reports and dashboards for the client that owns each account or property and to monitor the health of those connections. Today Sonder Passport only reads from connected accounts; it does not create, edit, or delete campaigns, budgets, or settings. Google provides a single Google Ads permission that covers both reading and managing an account; Sonder Passport uses it for reporting, and campaign management for the accounts we administer is a planned future capability that will be described here before it is enabled. Google Analytics and Google Search Console access is strictly read-only.
How we share it. Reporting built from this information is shared only with the client that owns the account or property and, where applicable, with the partner agency responsible for that client. We do not sell information received from Google, do not share it with any other third party, and do not use it for advertising, for building user profiles, or for any purpose unrelated to the reporting described above. Our hosting and authentication providers process it only to operate the platform on our behalf.
Storage and retention. Connection credentials are stored encrypted. Synced reporting data is retained while the client relationship is active and is deleted within 30 days after a connected account is disconnected or after a written deletion request to he***@*********er.us.
Your control. You can disconnect a Google account inside Sonder Passport at any time, and you can revoke Sonder Passport's access from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Either action stops all further access.
Sonder Passport's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
